Founded at IEMN in July 2007, MITEC stands for "Microtechnology and Instrumentation for Thermal and Electromagnetic Characterization".
The MITEC group mainly carries out research in theoretical and applied areas related to energy microconverters and microwave characterization of materials.
Les activités de recherche au sein du groupe MITEC
se déclinent en plusieurs thèmes :
- Thermoelectric microconverters.
- Thermal microsensors.
- Instrumentation for microwaves and millimeter waves.
- Temperature measurement by microwave radiometry.
- Characterization of materials: measurement of complex dielectric permittivity and thermal conductivity.
Examples of research topics developed by members of the MITEC group:
- Thermal microsensors based on poly-silicon,
- New generations of thermoelectric microsources based on materials with improved merit factor and amended architecture,
- Thermodynamic micromachines: new micro energy sources,
- Temperature measurement using microwave radiometers,
- Design and realization of microwave systems using the "six-port" technique,
- Characterization of nano-objects and nano-structured materials in the microwave domain,
- Modeling of the interactions between electromagnetic waves and new materials (thin film materials, powder materials ...),
- Broadband measurement of complex dielectric permittivity of materials deposited in thin films,
- Measurement of the thermal conductivity of materials deposited in thin films.
