The Scientific Council

The Scientific Council, composed of 16 members, is consulted by the Management and the Bureau** on any question related to the scientific policy of the Laboratory.

In particular, it issues an opinion on the preparation of major deadlines (calls for structuring projects, evaluations, etc.), on the definition and life of flagship scientific projects, and on the composition of the International Scientific Council. It suggests actions of scientific animation, ensures an active scientific and technological watch, proposes strategic scientific orientations, and contributes to the scientific communication of the Laboratory.

It can be consulted on the scientific prioritization of thesis subjects, on the acquisition or renewal of technological and experimental equipment, in particular during joint meetings with the Technology Council.

** The IEMN Bureau is the executive body of the IEMN. It is composed of the Director of the Unit, the Deputy Directors (Scientific Director and Technological Director), the Secretary General, and the five Department Heads appointed by the Management from among the Group Heads. Depending on the agenda, the Directors of Relations with Education and the Director of Valorization participate, and guests may be invited.
