The C2EM center covers an area of 180 m2 and has three large pieces of equipment, each simulating a given electromagnetic environment: an anechoic chamber, a reverberation chamber with mode shifting (CRBM) and a TEM cell. This equipment, some of which (CRBM) is shared with the French Institute of Transport Science and Technology (IFSTTAR), has evolved in recent years to anticipate technological changes and extend its scope to electromagnetic characterization in the broadest sense. The diversity of its microwave instrumentation park allows the realization of most of the very specific EMC and antenna characterization measurements, on a wide frequency band.
Le pôle C2EM fait partie du nouveau réseau de plateforme de caractérisation radiofréquence RF-Net du CNRS
The resources and the associated personnel constitute a high-level technical support for the benefit of all the research teams of the laboratory as well as for external structures, in research projects with themes as varied as the study of new measurement methodologies, EMC and cybersecurity in transport, telecoms, RFID, geolocation, etc. In addition, the cluster's resources are used for initial academic training (such as the training and research unit in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Automation) and continuing education for industry.
Having received the CREST label (Center of Resources and Scientific and Technological Expertise) since 2007 for EMC, then identified as a regional platform in CISIT, it thus offers regional companies the testing resources and expertise necessary to bring their products into compliance with EMC standards. The anechoic chamber is also referenced within the RUCH network of the CNRS.
Enfin le pôle C2EM dispose d’un atelier d’électronique comprenant des moyens de prototypage (conception, programmation, fabrication et tests).
