The axis low-energy devices for healthcare involve technological developments (new-generation adaptive spike implants) for a new form of therapeutic management of progressive chronic diseases that are currently incurable (age-related macular degeneration, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, etc.). The ambition is to develop the biology/health/neurosciences and technology part of the project in collaboration with the BioMEMs group and INSERM in 2 stages:
- demonstrating a dialogue between cells targeting the targeted diseases and artificial neurons, which involves developing the entire interface (technological aspects, characterisation, BioMEMS, cultivation of living cells on artificial neurons, etc.).
- validation of the learning and encapsulated neuromorphic spike implant, with the ability to restore a physiological function lost in a neurodegenerative context.
