Finorpa helps Skapánê raise its first funds

Lille. Founded in March 2015 by José Corall Gallego, and based in Euratechnologies, Skapánê specialises in developing big data and machine learning solutions for major retailers (Auchan, Cofidis, Cdiscount, Caisse d'Epargne) as well as start-ups (vekia, Imabiotech). Skapánê has just raised €500,000 from Finorpa and Nord Crétaion (IRD Group), enabling it to finalise the development of its real-time big data and machine learning platform, and to strengthen its team. Previously developed on a self-financing basis, the young company (sales of €450,000) has won a number of awards, including the Entrepreneur network prize, the LMI Innovation "pépites" award and the BPI France French tech grant.

Since their creation in 1991, the INPI (Institut national de la propriété industrielle) trophies have been promoting and rewarding innovative companies and research centres that stand out for their exemplary industrial property strategy. Two of this year's twelve nominees are from our region. In the "Design" category, Horse Pilot from Cysoing was selected. Founded in 2010, the 14-strong company has set itself the mission of reinventing riding clothing. Horse Pilot has created a connected jacket for horses and riders. In the "Research" category, the Institut d'électronique, de microélectronique et de nanotechnologie (IEMN) in Villeneuve-d'Ascq (500 employees) was nominated. The core activity of the IEMN is focused on micro and nanotechnologies and their applications in the fields of information, communication, transport and health. The winners of the 2017 INPI Trophies will be announced on 6 December.

Second edition of the Grand Prix Autonomie & Solidarité for entrepreneurs

region. Autonomie et Solidarité is launching the second edition of its Grand Prix. The competition, open from 1 October 2017 to 31 January 2018, is aimed at business project leaders developing an innovative product or service, with their head office in Hauts-de-France. Two prizes will be awarded: €10,000 for the first winner and €5,000 for the second. The prizes will be given to the winning project promoters to be invested in the capital of their business. If they so wish, the winning project leaders will be supported for 3 years by an Autonomie & Solidarité volunteer and will benefit from the network of Autonomie & Solidarité, a regional player in solidarity-based venture capital.
