“Têtes chercheuses” : portraits de Celles et Ceux qui font la science
Engineers, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and researchers: come and meet the talented individuals driving progress in research, engineering and technology at the heart of our laboratory
À travers une série de portraits vidéo courts, nous mettrons en lumière leur expertise, leur passion et les plateformes technologiques de pointe qui font la renommée de l’IEMN.
Beatriz Orfao E Vale Tabernero
As part of our video portrait series “Our Female Researchers”, and to mark International Women’s Day, theIEMN is delighted to highlight the inspiring journey BEATRIZ ORFAO E VALE TABERNERO, currently a postdoctoral researcher, recruited by Mohammed ZAKNOUNE within the ANODE group.
Through her career and determination, Beatriz helps to encourage young women to consider careers in science, thereby becoming a source of inspiration for the next generation of female researchers.
Of Spanish origin, she made a radical change of country and a radical shift in her research focus, moving from Monte Carlo simulation and advanced characterisation to a strong commitment to nanotechnology, the fabrication and characterisation of III-V devices, in particular GaN-based Schottky diodes for high-frequency applications.
Over the past two and a half years, Beatriz has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to technological research within the IEMN’s cleanroom, quickly learning to use a wide range of equipment and contributing to several publications in international journals and at conferences.
Beatriz expresses her gratitude to theIEMN for their hospitality and for providing the technological and characterisation resources that made her work possible. She also expresses her gratitude to the RENATECH network and CNRS Ingénierie for their support.
