Teacher-researcher recruitment campaign - 2022 academic year Synchronised session - Innovative components for new generations of high-frequency wireless communication systems

Download the pdf file here

Teaching Training courses concerned:
The person recruited will be required to teach in all the "Electronics" courses in the EEA training department.

Learning objectives :

The person recruited will be part of the teaching team of the "Electronics" division within the EEA department of the University of Lille, located on the Cité Scientifique campus in Villeneuve d'Ascq.

She will be mainly involved in the teaching of the EEA Licence and the Réseaux et Télécom - Systèmes Electroniques Communicants (SYSCOM) Masters course.

In particular, the person recruited will be able to prepare and teach courses corresponding to his/her area of expertise (courses, practical work, practical work and projects), particularly in the areas of :

- Analogue electronics ;
- Design and/or characterisation of RF circuits and systems.

Skills in digital electronics and mixed electronic systems will be appreciated.

Need for support :

The person recruited will be expected to make a major commitment to the EEA department and in particular to the Electronics division. He or she will be involved in supervising SYSCOM master's projects and internships.

The person recruited is expected to take on more responsibility in the medium term, which could mean taking on the management of studies for one of the Master's courses, or responsibility for M2 projects.

Search Research theme :
In recent years, the advent of 5G has put radio frequency (RF) back on the map as a key consideration in the development of next-generation electronic systems. This requires innovations in terms of component size, operating frequency and power, as well as energy consumption. These objectives have an impact on the design of components, their technological pathways and the associated manufacturing processes. Through its technology platforms (CMNF) and characterisation platforms (PCMP) accredited by the University of Lille, the IEMN has, in recent years, been able to position itself as an essential link in these strategic subjects as part of the Renatech network, EQUIPEX(+) (Excelsior, LEAF, Nanofutur), Labex GaNeXT, the European Graphene Flagship, as well as the joint laboratory with STMicroelectronics and the IEMN - MC2 Technologies industrial chair.

In this context, the IEMN wishes to strengthen its experimental research into the design and manufacture of micro-nano devices (GHz to THz), and/or (nano)-characterisation (power, noise, electromagnetic radiation). The aim is to improve the performance of components from different sectors (silicon, III-V, III-N, new materials (e.g. 2D)) and to develop innovative measurement techniques, in order to accelerate their TRL (Technology Readiness Level). Depending on their research project, the person recruited may also be asked to get involved in the system integration of these new component types, using the laboratory's tools as well as those of the IEMN's partners.

Expected responsibilities:

  • Setting up scientific projects and handling funding applications;
  • In the medium term, collective involvement in the laboratory structure.
Educational innovation The person recruited will be a driving force behind changes in teaching practices in the field of electronics and will be expected to play an active role in the development of innovative digital tools for teaching and research.
