Together and making an impact – Act I
March 26, 2026 – IEMN
On March 26, the IEMN co-hosted a regional networking event bringing together companies, research laboratories, and education leaders.
The objective? To strengthen the cohesion and visibility of the electronics industry in Hauts-de-France, a sector that accounts for 10,000 jobs in the core industry and 32,000 in the broader sector, as well as 246 institutions and 30 dedicated laboratories.
This potential offers opportunities for synergies that can be strengthened to further enhance the region’s appeal.
Strong institutional support
The presence of Ms. Valérie SIX (Regional Councilor for Innovation), Ms. Laurence DASSAS (General Delegate of the French Electronics Federation) and Ms. Vanessa TOCUT (Regional Representative of the CNRS), lent particular weight to this initiative, which is jointly supported by public authorities, the research community, and the entire national electronics industry.
A collective momentum worth sustaining
The meeting revealed a shared enthusiasm and a strong commitment among regional stakeholders to develop the industry and establish it as a recognized center of excellence in electronics.
Five workshops to identify areas for action
The morning featured five interactive workshops, with topics selected based on the areas of interest expressed by the participants:
1) From design to industrialization
2) Reindustrialization and sovereignty
3) Testing, qualification, and reliability
4) Skills, training, and attractiveness
5) Collaboration and sector structuring
Each workshop highlighted key challenges and proposed concrete short-term and long-term actions to strengthen the sector.

This collaborative initiative is supported and driven by the Hauts-de-France Region, the Hauts-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, HDFID, as well as the French Fab and French Tech networks, in partnership with local academic and business stakeholders. Organized in partnership with the PUI Lille.
