Séminaire TTM Thème 4: Diagnostic et suivi en service de l’état de santé des matériaux et structures par intégration de capteurs

Thursday 04 July 2019 from 09:00 to 12:00, IEMN OAE Valenciennes branch

The Land Transport & Mobility Research Federation (FR3733), supported by the CNRS, the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, the Université de Lille and Centrale Lille, is the result of excellent collaborative research carried out for many years in the region by the LAMIH (UMR 8201), CRIStAL (UMR 9189), IEMN (UMR 8520), LMFL (FRE2017) and LaMCUBE (FRE2016) laboratories.

It is an important building block in the transport and mobility sector, in an increasingly competitive socio-economic context.

The FR TTM makes it possible to develop multidisciplinary synergies, pool resources and staff, support the scientific resources that are essential for developing new and more generic knowledge, and respond together, under the same banner, to regional, national and European calls for proposals.

The objectives of theme 4

  • Development of original, minimally intrusive methods for in-service diagnosis of the condition of materials and structures.

The originality of the theme

  • Development of advanced ultrasound characterisation techniques.
  • Collective signal processing based on the physics of the problem.
  • New sensor principles based on micro- and nano-technologies.
  • Development of instrumentation methods during tests.

Scientific impact

  • Creating synergy between the teams, enabling a more global approach to the problem.
  • Complementary disciplines (mechanics of materials, ultrasonic detection and imaging, functional materials and sensor integration, decision algorithms, etc.) will thus be able to benefit from improved cross-fertilisation, which is necessary to advance the theme.
