“Leading Minds”: profiles of the people who shape science
Engineers, PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and researchers: come and meet the talented individuals driving progress in research, engineering and technology at the heart of our laboratory
À travers une série de portraits vidéo courts (moins de 3 minutes), nous mettrons en lumière leur expertise, leur passion et les plateformes technologiques de pointe qui font la renommée de l’IEMN.
New portraits will be added to this collection on a regular basis!
Saliha Ouendi
Design Engineer in Lithography.
“My daughter thinks I’m a doctor… So why not one day?”
Meet Saliha, an inspiring young mum with a passion for science!
She shares her journey with sincerity and reminds us that we can dream big: for ourselves, and for the next generation!
ABDELMALEK ZEMOUR,
CIFRE PhD student at STMicroelectronics.
This thesis is the result of a collaboration between an academic laboratory (the IEMN-CNRS) and a company (STMicroelectronics).
It fits perfectly with the ‘Électronique France 2030’ strategy, which enables France to strengthen its national sovereignty in certain sectors of the electronics industry.
Supervised by Mohammed ZAKNOUNE (DR-CNRS), Malek ZEGAOUI (IR-CNRS) and Pascal Chevalier (Manager, STMicroelectronics), this thesis was carried out under an industrial research training agreement (CIFRE).
Throughout his three-year PhD, Abdelmalek demonstrated unwavering tenacity and resilience, achieving excellent results that represent the global state of the art. On his own initiative, he implemented an innovative thermal interposer approach for III-V devices on silicon, compatible with CMOS manufacturing processes. This approach has been the subject of a patent application filed jointly by STMicroelectronics and the CNRS.
