A chip to radiate beams of THz waves over 360°

Read about a revolutionary technology that could transform future wireless communications, enabling faster, more efficient and highly customisable THz links for 6G communications and beyond,in the journal Nature published on 14 August 2024.
This work is the result of a collaboration between NTU (Singapore), PhLam (Lille) and IEMN.

A silicon component incorporating 184 waveguides combined with radiating devices enables 300 GHz beams to be directed over 360°. This makes it possible to create multiple simultaneous wireless links at very high bit rates, including high-definition video broadcasting. The results of these experiments are published in the journal Nature.
