Sabine Szunerits, professor at the University of Lille, is appointed Senior Member of the Institut Universitaire de France as of October 1, 2022, for a period of 5 years.

Sabine Szunerits’ project in the Nano-Bio-Interfaces (NBI) group of the IEMN focuses on the early diagnosis of diseases in order to initiate treatments at a very early stage to save lives.  The objective is to extend detection technologies beyond traditional methods and to exploit alternative detection media such as sweat, saliva and breath condensate. This personalized medicine also involves the engineering of intelligent drug delivery systems. The team is working on the use of nanostructures for the transdermal delivery of therapeutic macromolecules as well as the delivery of therapeutic agents via ocular junctions.
