The group has an historical activity in the opto-acoustic and microwave-photonic research themes (as well as in their respective modelling activities). Nevertheless, since the early 2010s, the scope of activities has broadened and current ones fall within 5 main themes:
- modelling:
- integrated optics (for microwave photonics components)
- opto-acoustics
- photovoltaics
- acousto-optics components and systems
- tunable optical filtering in the optical telecommunication domain (1.55µm)
- multi-electrode filters for visible and near-infrared hyperspectral imaging
- microwave-photonics components and systems
- high modulation speed white LEDs for LiFi
- electro-optic switches and beam deflectors for high bit rate analogue to digital conversion
- photovoltaics
