Le cas d\u2019usage principal \u00e0 ce jour vise \u00e0 supporter les d\u00e9ploiements radio de c\u0153ur de r\u00e9seaux 5G et 6G. Pour cela, des liaisons point \u00e0 point en ligne directe sont en phase de d\u00e9veloppement, avec des d\u00e9ploiements pr\u00e9vus dans la bande D (140-150 GHz) d\u2019ici 2030 et au-del\u00e0 (bande H, 300 GHz) d\u2019ici 2035-2040.<\/p>\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 de ce cas d\u2019usage qui utilise des antennes traditionnelles qui concentrent le faisceau, des applications en int\u00e9rieur sont aussi \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tude, n\u00e9cessitant des approches diff\u00e9rentes sur le rayonnement des ondes pour couvrir le lien entre \u00e9metteur et d\u00e9tecteur. Celles-ci n\u00e9cessitent alors des antennes moins directives avec une ouverture plus large, id\u00e9alement \u00e0 360\u00b0. Une approche possible consiste alors \u00e0 utiliser des guides d\u2019ondes topologiques \u00e0 fuite dont la direction de rayonnement d\u00e9pend de la fr\u00e9quence. Dans ces travaux que nous avons men\u00e9s avec nos partenaires de NTU Singapour et de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Notre-Dame aux USA, le CNRS a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 \u00e0 la fois la caract\u00e9risation des dispositifs THz et a permis la mise en \u0153uvre d\u2019une preuve de concept (PoC, Proof of Concept) de r\u00e9alisation du rayonnement tri-dimensionnel du guide \u00e0 fuite, celui-ci r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en silicium. Ce guide \u00e0 fuite, coupl\u00e9 \u00e0 des convertisseurs THz (photom\u00e9lange), permet une fonctionnalisation de la source THz, rendant possible de rayonner le signal dans une grande partie de l\u2019espace avec une spatialisation d\u00e9finie par le design du dispositif rayonnant.
