\u00bb<\/h4>\n<p>Maxime a con\u00e7u des <strong>batteries miniatures qui reposent sur l&rsquo;alliage de mat\u00e9riaux lithi\u00e9s<\/strong>. Ces batteries dites solides sont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es en <strong>architecture 3D<\/strong>, ce qui leur conf\u00e8re une grande capacit\u00e9 de stockage.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00ab Le challenge des ann\u00e9es 2010-2020 est de concevoir des batteries ayant de grandes densit\u00e9s d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie dans des espaces tr\u00e8s r\u00e9duits. On peut prendre <strong>l&rsquo;image d\u2019un poumon<\/strong> : sa structure complexe en arborescence, compos\u00e9e d&rsquo;alv\u00e9oles termin\u00e9es par des capillaires, permet un \u00e9change gazeux optimal avec l\u2019air. \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Son projet consacre plusieurs ann\u00e9es de recherche sur le sujet. Sa pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseur avait travaill\u00e9 en architecture 3D mais sur une demi-pile. Or, une batterie est compos\u00e9e (d\u2019au moins) 6 couches de mat\u00e9riaux.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00ab Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 mes travaux de th\u00e8se, j\u2019ai d\u00e9pos\u00e9 la derni\u00e8re brique. Avec l\u2019empilement de toutes les couches de mat\u00e9riaux en 3D, j\u2019ai valid\u00e9 <strong>la fabrication d\u2019un dispositif complet<\/strong> ! \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s une \u00e9cole pr\u00e9paratoire int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ISEN, Maxime poursuit en cycle ing\u00e9nieur et valide un master Syst\u00e8mes communicants \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Lille avec option nano et microtechnologies o\u00f9 il d\u00e9veloppe un go\u00fbt prononc\u00e9 pour le stockage ou la conversion de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. L\u00e0, il rencontre <strong>Christophe Lethien<\/strong>, son directeur de th\u00e8se, qui va l&rsquo;orienter vers des th\u00e9matiques porteuses.<br \/>\nPour Maxime, le challenge de sa recherche reposait sur la conception de batteries tout solides car l\u2019\u00e9lectrolyte, la substance conductrice qui, s\u00e9parant deux \u00e9lectrodes permet l\u2019\u00e9change des ions, est compos\u00e9e de solvants liquides.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00ab Une difficult\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 de r\u00e9aliser toute la synth\u00e8se des mat\u00e9riaux sur une architecture 3D qui fait appel \u00e0 <strong>des techniques de d\u00e9p\u00f4ts avanc\u00e9es<\/strong> dites \u00ab par couche atomique \u00bb ou ALD (<em>Atomic Layer Deposition<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Les travaux de Maxime sont en phase de maturation. Il souhaite continuer \u00e0 travailler dans le domaine de <strong>l\u2019\u00e9nergie renouvelable<\/strong>. Il projette d\u2019\u00e9tendre son prototype \u00e0 un projet global de syst\u00e8mes de stockage de l\u2019\u00e9nergie pour d\u2019autres types de batteries ou de composants. D&rsquo;abord, il faut de la pr\u00e9paration et <strong>beaucoup de patience<\/strong>. D&rsquo;un autre c\u00f4t\u00e9, le travail de collaboration entre techniciens, ing\u00e9nieurs, chercheurs a \u00e9t\u00e9 remarquable, \u00e0 l&rsquo;IEMN, c&rsquo;est <strong>comme une grande famille<\/strong> ! \u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\">MAXIME<\/span> : \u00ab Oui, d&rsquo;abord, c&rsquo;est <strong>un travail d&rsquo;\u00e9quipe indispensable <\/strong>! Ce mat\u00e9riau se trouve \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat naturel dans les cristaux de graphite. Des chercheurs l&rsquo;ont d\u00e9couvert en 2004 en utilisant la bande adh\u00e9sive d&rsquo;un rouleau de scotch pour exfolier des couches de graphite. \u00ab Ses caract\u00e9ristiques sont uniques : \u00e0 la fois solide et l\u00e9ger, excellent conducteur thermique, d\u00e9formable et transparent ; il est cependant difficile \u00e0 synth\u00e9tiser et \u00e0 coupler avec d\u2019autres mat\u00e9riaux. \u00bb Nathali a contourn\u00e9 la difficult\u00e9 en <strong>cr\u00e9ant un mat\u00e9riau artificiel qui imite les caract\u00e9ristiques du graph\u00e8ne<\/strong> :<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u00ab On a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 <strong>une structure en nids d\u2019abeille<\/strong> en faisant des trous dans les semi-conducteurs III-V, pour <strong>mimer l\u2019organisation des atomes de carbone<\/strong> du graph\u00e8ne, en s\u2019appuyant sur la physique quantique. \u00bb<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Pour observer les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes quantiques, il faut travailler \u00e0 une \u00e9chelle microscopique telle que les \u00e9lectrons se comportent principalement comme des ondes.
