En effet, cela est en parti d\u00fb \u00e0 l&rsquo;accessibilit\u00e9 du grand publique \u00e0 de plus en plus d&rsquo;objets connect\u00e9s tels que le t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, les smart TV, les capteurs intelligents, les cam\u00e9ras de surveillances, les cafeti\u00e8res etc &#8230; Coupl\u00e9 \u00e0 cela, de nouveaux modes de consommation des donn\u00e9es tels que les r\u00e9seaux sociaux, le streaming 4K ou encore la musique \u00e0 la demande tendent \u00e0 saturer les canaux de communications allou\u00e9s. De plus, le contexte de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 territorial actuel fait croitre la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de disposer de syst\u00e8me rapide et fiable pour la d\u00e9tection d&rsquo;armes, de toxines ou d&rsquo;explosifs pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 dans les a\u00e9roports, stations de train ou centres de distribution des eaux. Ainsi, de par ses propri\u00e9t\u00e9s, la bande de fr\u00e9quence millim\u00e9trique d\u00e9finie entre 30 GHz et 300 GHz suscite un grand int\u00e9r\u00eat pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 ces probl\u00e9matiques. En effet, la bande de fr\u00e9quence millim\u00e9trique pourrait permettre de disposer de plus large bande passante de transmission pour des applications de t\u00e9l\u00e9communication, se traduisant par une augmentation du d\u00e9bit disponible. D&rsquo;un point de vue imagerie, l&rsquo;augmentation de la fr\u00e9quence op\u00e9rationnelle permet d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9cision avec la capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 p\u00e9n\u00e9trer certains mat\u00e9riaux. S&rsquo;ajoutant \u00e0 cela, l&rsquo;attrait pour la gamme de fr\u00e9quence millim\u00e9trique est d&rsquo;autant plus fort que les dip\u00f4les \u00e9lectriques interagissent fortement avec les rayonnements dans cette gamme de fr\u00e9quence. The design of these systems is based on the use of accurate and reliable models of passive and active devices such as MOS or bipolar transistors. These models are themselves extracted and validated by high-frequency measurements up to 110 GHz. The high-frequency measurements carried out can be classified into three types of characterisation. Small signal characterisation is used to extract the frequency performance of the device. Large-signal characterisation is used to determine the device's non-linear behaviour. Finally, the aim of noise characterisation is to define the noise contribution of the device and extract its 4 noise parameters. In order to ensure the validity of these models, it is necessary to carry out measurements above 110 GHz. However, beyond this frequency, current characterisation benches and methods reach their limits.  The IEMN laboratory and STMicroelectronics have been working together for a number of years, forming a joint laboratory, in order to address the problems associated with increasing the frequency of characterisation requirements.
