itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>Context<\/strong><br \/>In recent years, connected objects have become part of everyday life and connected textiles are beginning to be offered on the market. Other products, known as smart textiles, with sensors and embedded electronics modules have also been developed, focusing on the professional market (military or security clothing) and the health and sports sectors. As an example, Google with Levi's announced the marketing of a connected denim jacket in 2017. However, the reliability of smart textiles remains questionable in particular because of problems related to connectivity and the power supply of electronic modules.<br \/>Among different solutions, wireless communication can be considered to address the connectivity problem. The electronic modules form a wireless network located around the human body (Wireless Body Area Network - WBAN) whose data can be collected by a smartphone. The latter can then be used as a gateway to transmit the collected data to the outside world (Internet).<br \/>In order to limit the interaction of the waves with the human body and to improve the transmission balance, it is preferable to privilege the transmission of the data along the body rather than through the body. Another solution is to consider the guidance of surface waves on metallized or structured textiles inspired by research conducted on metamaterials.<br \/><strong>Abstract<\/strong><br \/>Le sujet de th\u00e8se s&rsquo;inscrit dans la th\u00e9matique des r\u00e9seaux autour du corps humain et des textiles intelligents. Il a pour objectif de concevoir des textiles structur\u00e9s innovants permettant d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer la transmission de donn\u00e9es par le guidage d&rsquo;ondes de surface entre un capteur int\u00e9gr\u00e9 au textile et un smartphone. Diff\u00e9rentes structurations textiles seront envisag\u00e9es en s&rsquo;inspirant du domaine des m\u00e9tamat\u00e9riaux tels que les conducteurs magn\u00e9tiques artificiels (AMC) ou les m\u00e9tamat\u00e9riaux obtenus par l&rsquo;entrelacement de fils conducteurs tiss\u00e9s, ou encore en utilisant la corrugation d&rsquo;un plan de masse fabriqu\u00e9 en textiles. Par compatibilit\u00e9 avec les technologies disponibles dans les smartphones actuelles, la transmission de donn\u00e9es sera envisag\u00e9e dans la bande Instrumentale Scientifique et M\u00e9dicale (ISM) autour de 2.45 GHz.<br \/>La th\u00e8se comportera une phase de simulations des structures sur des logiciels commerciaux (HFSS, CST), la fabrication des textiles structur\u00e9s, et enfin leurs caract\u00e9risations \u00e9lectromagn\u00e9tiques. Pour ces derni\u00e8res, le (la) candidat(e) devra d\u00e9velopper un banc de caract\u00e9risations du guidage d&rsquo;ondes de surface en s&rsquo;appuyant sur des travaux men\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Exeter.<br \/>Ces travaux de th\u00e8se s&rsquo;inscrivent dans le projet de recherche CONTEXT (2017-2020) financ\u00e9 par l&rsquo;Agence Nationale de la Recherche dans lequel deux autres partenaires sont impliqu\u00e9s : le GEMTEX de Roubaix et le LEAT de Nice. Dans ce cadre, les textiles structur\u00e9s seront fabriqu\u00e9s au GEMTEX, laboratoire facilement accessible par les transports en commun de la m\u00e9tropole Lille-Roubaix-Tourcoing.
